A fleet of
three John Deere Tractors form the main stay of
the clubs
launching fleet. Fully equipped with roll bars and towing ropes, these work
horses provide the means of transporting boats from the slipway outside the
Clubhouse down the beach and into action. For safety, the clubs normal practice
is to always have at least two tractors out and in running order during all launching and
retrieving operations.

Launching
is made easy by removing the need to use your own vehicle or from using the
nearest suitable slipway, several miles away, at Knott End, Fleetwood. |
|
Good
camaraderie within the club, sees members helping one another from sharing
information to offering a helping hand. The club operates a simple system of
launching the boat waiting in front then the boat behind launches you. The same practice
works in reverse during recovery. This practice speeds operations up considerably, makes life easy, less tiring and saves on walking up and
down the beach, the distance of which can be quite considerable on Spring low
water.
