Local Map

  1. Leave the M6 at junction 32 and take the M55 signed for Blackpool & Fleetwood.

  2. Leave the M55 at junction 3 signed for Kirkham & Fleetwood. Stay in the offside lane of the exit ramp and continue onto the roundabout taking the 3rd exit signed A585 to Fleetwood.

  3. Continue on the A585 to the traffic lights at it's junction with the A586 and turn left onto the A586 signed for Blackpool & Fleetwood.

  4. Continue along the A586 towards the next set of traffic lights & on approaching them take a position in the offside lane.

  5. Bear right at the traffic lights onto the A585 signed for Fleetwood and continue through the next set of traffic lights to the roundabout next to the River Wyre Hotel on your left.

  6. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit (the "straight on") signed for Cleveleys & Fleetwood and continue to the second roundabout.

  7. At the second roundabout take the 3rd exit signed for Cleveleys & Fleetwood and continue to the third roundabout.

  8. At the third roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Victoria Road, signed for Cleveleys. (The 1st exit only takes you into a supermarket!)

  9. Continue (West) along Victoria Road passing through two sets of traffic lights, across the junction where the tram tracks cross the road and through the main shopping area (one-way at this point with speed humps!) to the small roundabout at the junction with the Promenade.

  10. Take the 1st exit off the roundabout (straight on) onto Promenade South, leading onto Princess way and continue (south), with the seashore to your right for approximately three quarters of a mile until you reach the point where the road veers sharply to the Left. 

  11. There is an entrance into the sea defenses on your right, turn in here.  This is the location of the Fylde Boat Angling Club. The Clubhouse is to your left approximately 100 metres.  Boats prepare for launch on the large flat area of the sea defense wall to your right.  The club (Public) slipway is slightly to the left behind the upper wall.
